Meet Natalie Harp: she earns $150,000 a year as Donald Trump's official "human printer," writes him letters saying "you are all that matters to me," and spent the day of the January 6 Capitol attack posting "FIGHT FOR TRUMP!" twelve times in a single tweet. That last part she'd probably prefer you didn't know, which may explain why the account is gone.
One Hundred and Fifty Posts Before Lunch
CNN reported Saturday that a since-deactivated X account belonging to Harp was absolutely stuffed with pro-Trump content on January 6, 2021, the day a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol and attempted to stop the certification of a presidential election. We're talking more than 150 posts in a single day. That is not a concerned citizen voicing an opinion. That is a person whose entire nervous system had been replaced with MAGA talking points.
The posts included Harp repeating Trump's thoroughly debunked stolen-election lies, cheering him on as he delivered the speech that preceded the attack, and writing "We will never give up. We will never concede!" while the whole thing was unfolding. She also posted "Today, DC is TRUMP COUNTRY!" which, given what was happening in DC at that moment, reads less like enthusiasm and more like a dispatch from the scene.
The account is now suspended. It is unclear, as The Guardian notes, whether Harp took it down herself or whether the platform did. The timing of its disappearance is not known. What is known is that it existed, CNN found it, and now everyone is reading about it.
This Started Long Before January 6
If you were hoping this was just a one-day meltdown, CNN's reporting has some bad news for you. Harp was at it for weeks beforehand, telling her followers in the lead-up to the attack: "We will never give up — for TRUTH is on our side. January 6th is coming!!" That double exclamation point is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Right after the November 2020 election, she posted "WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU!" and then, on December 14, 2020, when the Electoral College certified Biden's win, she went with: "THIS IS A COUP." A coup. She called a free and fair democratic election a coup. The irony of that word choice, given what she was cheerleading two weeks later, is genuinely staggering.
The Daily Beast also unearthed a 2019 post in which Harp compared Trump to the Good Samaritan from the Bible, crediting him with saving her life during her cancer treatment. "The Political Establishment passed me by. But @realDonaldTrump didn't," she wrote. Whatever you think of that sentiment, the woman has been deeply, cosmically committed to this man for a very long time.
The Letters, the Brother, and the Senator
The resurfaced tweets are only the latest installment in what has become a genuinely strange ongoing news story. The Daily Beast published two letters on Thursday that Harp wrote to Trump in 2023. In one, she called him her "Guardian and Protector in this Life." In another, she wrote: "You are all that matters to me," and "I want to bring you joy, to feel like we can get through a day without ever having to talk 'work.'" These are letters. Written on paper. To the president. By a federal employee collecting a six-figure government salary.
Harp's estranged brother has told media outlets that he considers her relationship with Trump "unhealthy." Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia recently said on the record that one of the few things Trump actually wants these days is to "travel with Natalie." That is a United States senator saying that out loud about the sitting president of the United States and his aide.
Harp's official titles are special assistant to the president and executive assistant to the president, per The Guardian. Her unofficial title, earned inside Trump's orbit, is "human printer," a reference to her job of physically printing out information and handing it to Trump. She makes $150,000 a year to do this. The federal government is paying her more than most American households earn to be the world's most devoted laser jet.
The Account That Isn't There Anymore
Harp opened the X account in 2016, CNN reports, and it was active enough to rack up 150-plus posts on a single chaotic Tuesday in January. It is now gone. Suspended. Deactivated. Whatever the right word is for "a digital record that someone would probably rather not exist."
The timing of the account's removal is genuinely unknown, which is almost more interesting than if we knew exactly when it disappeared. It could have been taken down years ago. It could have been taken down the moment reporters started asking questions. We don't know. What we do know is that the posts existed, that at least some of them were captured before the account vanished, and that they paint a picture of someone who was not a passive bystander on January 6.
The Dingo Take
You are supposed to believe that a woman who posted "FIGHT FOR TRUMP!" twelve times in one tweet on the day of a violent insurrection, called a certified election "a coup," wrote the sitting president letters telling him he is "all that matters" to her, and somehow landed a $150,000-a-year government job at his side is just a dedicated public servant doing important work for the American people. The human printer. Printing things. Very normal.
What this actually is, stripped of every polite euphemism: a true believer who was cheering loudly from the outside on January 6 and is now embedded directly inside the second Trump administration with a salary, an official title, and what multiple sources describe as near-constant physical proximity to the president. The posts didn't disqualify her. They may well have been the audition.
The deleted account is the tell. If there were nothing embarrassing in those 150-plus posts, the account would still be up. Somebody made a decision that those words were better off gone. The problem with the internet, as many people have discovered too late, is that "gone" and "deleted" are not the same thing. CNN found them. The Daily Beast found the letters. And now the rest of us get to sit with the fact that the person handing the president his printed briefings spent January 6, 2021 posting "Today, DC is TRUMP COUNTRY!" while his supporters beat police officers with flagpoles three miles away.
