A sitting United States congressman went on Fox News and told voters that casting a ballot for a Democrat is the same as voting for Muslim terrorists. Florida Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., said this out loud, on the record, in October 2026, and the network ran it without so much as a raised eyebrow. Welcome to the discourse.

The Quote That Should End Careers but Won't

Here is what Randy Fine actually said, in full, so nobody can accuse us of taking it out of context. According to Fox News Digital, Fine stated: "Muslim terrorists in Iran have endorsed the Democratic Party. That's who you're voting for. You're voting for the people supported by Muslim terrorists if you vote Democrat."

That is a sitting member of the United States House of Representatives telling American voters that one of the two major parties is functionally a terrorist front organization. Not a fringe blogger. Not a guy in a Facebook comment. An elected federal lawmaker, on a national platform, making that claim with total confidence.

Fine's office did not respond to questions about the remarks by press time, presumably because no response was needed. This was the point. This was the headline he wanted.

The Iran Logic, Such as It Is

Fine's argument, if you want to call it that, goes something like this: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps recently called on American voters to oppose Trump in the midterm elections. Therefore, Democrats are on Iran's side. Therefore, voting Democrat is voting for Muslim terrorists. The logical gaps in this chain are roughly the size of the Persian Gulf.

The IRGC calling for something does not make the American political party they oppose into their allies. By that reasoning, every foreign adversary that has ever expressed a preference in an American election has turned half the country into traitors. That is not geopolitics. That is a Facebook meme with a congressional seal stamped on it.

Fine did, to his marginal credit, say he does not think regime change in Iran should be an explicit American foreign policy goal. "If crazy people want to run Iran, that's not America's problem unless they threaten America," he told Fox News. The part where he accused tens of millions of American voters of siding with those same crazy people he apparently filed under a different mental folder.

The Ilhan Omar Side Quest

Fine did not stop at Iran. The interview also covered the Department of Homeland Security's investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., which DHS Secretary Tom Homan announced recently. Fine had thoughts. Many thoughts.

"She's bathed in fraud," Fine told Fox News, going on to allege that Omar lied about earning $30 million and called for her to be "denaturalized" and deported back to Somalia. A request sent to Omar's office for a response was not returned by the time Fox News published the piece.

Fine also extended his fraud allegation beyond Omar herself, saying the community "she comes from engages in wholesale welfare fraud" and that some of her relatives had been involved. That is a congressman painting an entire ethnic and religious community with a single defamatory brush, and doing it with the practiced ease of someone who has decided there are no consequences left to worry about.

The 'United Islamic Kingdom' and Other Signals

Fine also warned during the interview that America is losing what he called the battle against mainstream Islam, pointing to a video he said he saw of a Texas mosque fundraising on the premise of eliminating Christianity. He then said, and this is a direct quote from Fox News Digital: "You can see what has happened in the United Islamic Kingdom. That will happen to America if we are unwilling to deal with this problem."

He meant the United Kingdom. He got the name wrong while delivering a warning about civilizational collapse. The country that has hosted the British monarchy without interruption for over a thousand years is, in Fine's telling, already lost to a caliphate.

This is the intellectual framework underpinning his foreign policy analysis. Keep that in mind when weighing his claims about which political party is secretly working for the Ayatollah.

Where This Sits in the Bigger Picture

Fine has been one of the louder voices in the MAGA wing of the House, and this interview is consistent with his brand: maximum aggression, minimum factual constraint, delivered with the conviction of someone who has never once been made to feel the weight of his words. Fox News Digital published the interview under a headline about him keeping America safe from nuclear weapons, presenting the whole thing as a straightforward policy discussion.

This framing matters. Calling the opposing party traitors and terrorists is not a policy position. It is accelerant. It is the kind of rhetoric that has historically ended with real violence against real people, and dressing it up as national security commentary does not change what it is.

The midterm elections are the context here. Fine, per Fox News, is making a direct electoral argument: that a vote for Democrats is a vote for Iran. That claim will reach millions of people through the Fox News ecosystem without serious challenge, which is presumably exactly why he made it there.

The Dingo Take

Every Muslim American voter reading the news this week got to find out that a sitting United States congressman thinks their community is a hotbed of welfare fraud and a fifth column for the Iranian regime. Every Somali American got to hear that their entire community is enmeshed in fraud, straight from the floor of Congress, effectively. These are not abstractions. These are people who pay taxes, raise kids, and vote in the same elections Fine is trying to contaminate with this garbage.

The 'Democrats are literally on Iran's side' argument is not a policy critique. It is not even a serious provocation. It is a content strategy. Fine knows the clip will run on loop, knows it will get shared in group chats, knows it will end up in campaign ads. The point was never to make a coherent geopolitical argument. The point was to say something so radioactive that it drowns out every other conversation about the midterms. Mission accomplished, probably.

What is genuinely clarifying about this interview is how openly Fine connects the domestic Islamophobia to the foreign policy chest-thumping. It is all one thing for him. The mosque in Texas, Ilhan Omar's finances, Iran's nuclear program, the Democratic Party: all folded into one grand civilizational war that conveniently makes Randy Fine a crusader and makes everyone who disagrees with him an enemy of Western civilization. That is a very efficient worldview. It also has nothing to do with governing a country.
